I'm really surprised with my parents

Ever since Senior Year in high school, they've been pushing & pushing me to become a nurse. I really had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, so I just decided to be a Pre-Nursing major @ State to get them off my back. Up until recently, I have been going back & forth with a lot of things I'm more interested in: technology, fashion, design, film, photography, graphic design, etc. I knew I'd be miserable doing nursing my whole life. I mean shit, I wouldn't be able to stick a needle in someone's arm. Although, I am really fascinated with blood. LOL.

I've had numerous arguments with my mom telling her that it's not what I wanted to do. I gave the whole "Money can't buy you happiness" spiel, but she just wasn't having it. She's Filipino, for crying out loud. But after careful reconsideration, I decided to switch majors in the hopes that my parents wouldn't get mad at me, crossing my fingers that I could somehow graduate without them knowing that I switched. haha. I decided to go en route to Family & Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Fashion Marketing & Design. I subtly told my mom that I think it'd be cool if I had a clothing line & she was surprisingly all for it. She said it'd be "Hecka cool." Uh, what? Who are you? hahaha. I haven't officially switched yet, but that's where I was planning on heading until I just had a talk with my dad. He asked me if I wanted to do nursing still & all I said was, "Um...I don't know." His response definitely surprised the hell out of me. He told me that I should do something along the lines of computer science, since I'm glued to my laptop all the time. He wasn't mad. He said he'd be happy for me if I went with it, since I do know all the in's & out's of tech-y stuff.

But, holy shit. What's changed in them? I'm sure glad I got that anti-nursing thing off my chest though. I don't know where I'm headed, but I know it's something I'll be really happy with & super interested in. & to have my parents behind my back 100% now, that just seals the deal.
