I love my friends.
Wednesday was Manang Dani's 20th birthday, so on Tuesday I decided to bake cupcakes in the theme of "UP" to celebrate her's & Alisha's birthdays. Alisha's was last week. It was a last minute thing & I hella didn't even plan it out ahead of time. Come Wednesday morning, I went to Bel Air to buy some stuff I needed (food dye, frosting, etc.) & found gift bags to put their presents in. I bought a pink bag for Dani & a purple bag for Alisha. Oh, & matching tissue paper. LOL. I was going to to these cupcakes & bake Cookie Monster cupcakes, but I couldn't find white chocolate melts to make eyes. ): So I just stuck with the "UP" motif. I just thought it was a cute idea since we all watched it together, while drinking. Yeeeah, we would. I was so crunched on time because we made plans to watch "Despicable Me" at the drive-ins that night. I couldn't find our cupcake tins & pastry decorating things, so I called up Mags to borrow hers. She was out for a while so I ran a few errands while I waited. I went to Party City to grab ribbons (for the cupcake balloons) cuz I couldn't find any at Bel Air. I found white chocolate melts there too! I was mad. Whatever. But I saw that a huge spool of ribbon was around $3. I wanted two colors, so I was like "Whatever" about it. Then I saw that latex balloons were 99cents. My frugal thinking decided to get two balloons & ask for extra ribbon. I bought a pink & purple one. I thought it would be hella funny to be all matchy-matchy on their presents. I had around 5 hours to bake, decorate, & print/assemble the house I found on the Disney website. I got it all done with an hour to spare. Scoreeee. They were butter pecan & I added a splash of Amaretto. mmmmmmmm. Went to Dani's, they blew out their cupcakes & we headed out. We took Alisha's mom's van & all decided to hide so that we didn't have to pay so much. Oh gurl, I get paranoid when it comes to shit like that. But we successfully hid under blankets & hoodies and paid $2 instead of $7. Yeee. It was a cute movie & I want a minion & an Agnes NOW. haha. (:
Today (Friday. I don't count a day as "tomorrow" until after I wake up.) we went to Great America. I've never been there so I was pretty juiced. I left around 9:30 to scoop up Alisha, Nicole, Dani, & AJ. We got some sandwiches at Subway before we left so we wouldn't have to buy food there & burn hella money. Got on the road around 11:30 & we played the "Would You Rather?" game, which turned into the hypothetical situation game. hahahaha. It passed time pretty fast, so. We got to Great America around 1ish & ate half our foot longs. $5 ftw! Our first ride was the 2 story carousel & Dani made the fun idea of switching to a new horse once we go around out of sight of the ride operator. We agreed. We went around, ran to a new horse, & with my luck I would go to the one that was on it's way up. Everyone was on their hose & I was trying to straddle that shit before the operator saw me. My shin hit the horse's ass & made a loud noise. We were in his sight already. I gave him a sad look & said "Maan, I fell off my horse." After the ride was over, we had to pass him so I told Nicole "OMG. How the hell did I fall off that horse!?" Ahhh, we're so bad. (:
Went on a couple of roller coasters & forgot that I brought clothespins with me. I hella wanted to play the clothespin game. It's where you clip a clothespin to a victim's piece of clothing. With each clothespin, you get a point. With each employee, you get five points. I sucked. Really bad. Every time I would go to clip someone, my clip would fall to the ground & people around me would look. It's funny how when you're up to no good, everybody in the world always stares at you. We were walking to go find funnel cakes & saw that people were in line to take pictures with Snoopy. He counts as an employee so we thought it was the perfect opportunity to do some damage. I was recording all our shenanigans on my camera, so I just gave the chick my phone. We all get up to Snoopy & clipped that bitch. Well, I sucked at it. I clipped his fur, then it fell. So I clipped the shirt he was wearing. LOL. The chick taking pics already knew I did some shit. We took the picture & everybody got the fuck outta there. I forgot about my phone so Alisha ran to the chick. I was recording us while we were leaving & told Snoopy "Byeeee. I love you!" & walked out hella fast. Nicole turned around & told us that they found the clothespins on him. Whoooooooops. hahaha. At the end of the day, Alisha won. That slut. -_-
I still have a pack left. We'll probably FSU at the State Fair.

Breathe
Didn't do much today. Went to the Galleria with Nicole to get birthday presents for Alisha & Dani. It's really hard buying stuff for someone else, especially if you're super picky about what to buy, like me. I kept thinking, "If I don't like it, then they won't like it." I'm pretty sure our presents did my personal mantra for the day justice. Ooh, they're opening a Gordon Biersch there in September. There was construction on the second floor next to the food court & it looked strangely small for a restaurant. Like, not even the size of a McDonald's. idk, I guess we'll see what it looks like in a month's time. We went into this new store that looked a lot like the Hollister storefront called Gilly Hicks. It was like the Victoria's Secret of Hollister. It was dark & sexual. No, really. Pictures of nearly naked people all over the walls. I love how A&F, Hollister, & Gilly Hicks were all in the same area. Seeing as how their storefronts look like actual buildings, it was like walking in a rich white person's neighborhood. Not my cup of tea. haha. We got into my car & Nicole realized she didn't have her phone so we ran all the way back to Gilly Hicks where she left it. Some trashy white girl told us she gave it to the people up front. It's nice to know there are honest people in this world, even if you look like a hot mess.
I was craving Leatherby's ice cream, so I treated Nicole to some. Every time we eat, we talk about hella serious stuff. I love that as unserious as we always are, there are those serious moments that we have that always makes me think. She definitely made me think today. Friendships, love, the future, relationships, whatever. She's like my own personal Oprah. Except not old. haha. But anyway, I'm trying to reevaluate a lot of things I'm going through right now & just take baby steps in dealing with them. I don't know how I'm gonna get there or how long it'll take. At least I have a handful of friends that will help me get through some rough times. Lately I've been really irritated with the smallest things & I really just wanna be alone most of the time. A lot of stuff has just been piling up that I don't feel like dealing with people. I've been such a homebody lately that the only place I ever go to now is the gym. But I really like all this time to myself.
I guess I'm doing better. So far.

Note to self: Check your credit card statements often.
A few weeks ago, I went into the Apple Store to buy a bumper for my iPhone. I used my credit card to pay for it. I swiped my card, confirmed my information & the employee asked me to swipe my card again because he "messed up on confirmation." But he told me not to worry because it "didn't charge twice." I was thinking to myself, "What if he did charge me twice?," for a few days, but didn't think nothing of it really.
After this whole free bumper/case ordeal with Apple, in which they gave you refunds for recently purchased bumpers if you bought them with a credit card, or you could order another one for free. I got an e-mail confirming my refund & I managed to order a free bumper. For a few days, I've been checking my credit card statement online to see if the refund went through because I thought it would right away. Nope. It just refunded me a few hours ago. I checked my statement & saw that I was refunded for more than what I payed for ($31.74). I got refunded double that. That fucker did charge me twice.
I'm really bad at keeping track of what I purchase. It's not good, seeing as how I am using a credit card, which makes you more susceptible to fraudulent charges & everything. Time to put myself in check.
But whatever, it's all good. I got my money back. His name is on my original receipt though. Maybe I should complain to the manager.

Chill
It was Nika's birthday dinner @ BJ's today. She rounded up old friends & co-workers from Tilly's. Dinner was bomb. Went to her house afterwards to party & it was hella crackin'. Everyone was drinking & playing beer pong. Evalyn & Neeks didn't wanna drink beer so I told them I'd drink for them. I always do that, haha. I didn't really get buzzed tho'. Towards the end, I decided to clean up for Nika cuz I felt bad. I cleaned up pretty well. hahaha. It was great catching up with my old Tilly's friends. Haven't talked to them in forever. I kept getting a lot of drunk "I love you's" & "I miss you so much."
I missed chillin' with my high school friends too. No matter what shit we go through, & no matter how long, we always end up kickin' it as if time was never a factor.
Love my homies. Goodnight.

I'm really surprised with my parents
Ever since Senior Year in high school, they've been pushing & pushing me to become a nurse. I really had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, so I just decided to be a Pre-Nursing major @ State to get them off my back. Up until recently, I have been going back & forth with a lot of things I'm more interested in: technology, fashion, design, film, photography, graphic design, etc. I knew I'd be miserable doing nursing my whole life. I mean shit, I wouldn't be able to stick a needle in someone's arm. Although, I am really fascinated with blood. LOL.
I've had numerous arguments with my mom telling her that it's not what I wanted to do. I gave the whole "Money can't buy you happiness" spiel, but she just wasn't having it. She's Filipino, for crying out loud. But after careful reconsideration, I decided to switch majors in the hopes that my parents wouldn't get mad at me, crossing my fingers that I could somehow graduate without them knowing that I switched. haha. I decided to go en route to Family & Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Fashion Marketing & Design. I subtly told my mom that I think it'd be cool if I had a clothing line & she was surprisingly all for it. She said it'd be "Hecka cool." Uh, what? Who are you? hahaha. I haven't officially switched yet, but that's where I was planning on heading until I just had a talk with my dad. He asked me if I wanted to do nursing still & all I said was, "Um...I don't know." His response definitely surprised the hell out of me. He told me that I should do something along the lines of computer science, since I'm glued to my laptop all the time. He wasn't mad. He said he'd be happy for me if I went with it, since I do know all the in's & out's of tech-y stuff.
But, holy shit. What's changed in them? I'm sure glad I got that anti-nursing thing off my chest though. I don't know where I'm headed, but I know it's something I'll be really happy with & super interested in. & to have my parents behind my back 100% now, that just seals the deal.

Haters to the Left
Frustrated. Angry. Disappointed. Upset. Hurt.
I'm done with everything. Maybe I'm acting out on impulse, or maybe this is just years of suppressed emotion & resentment that was waiting to be unleashed. I don't know.
I'm so outspoken now as opposed to before. I used to be the quiet kid. Going though high school, I'd hear shit about me & the only thing I would do is keep quiet. Now I'm just blunt as fuck. If something's bothering me, I'll tell you. I'm so done dealing with people, fakes, lies, & bullshit. To the people that thought they knew me: you're dead fucking wrong. Karma will fuck in the ass. Think before you speak. You'll never know when it'll come around to the person you're talking about.
Nobody worry about me though. I'm fine.

You stay classy, San Diego
Whoops. Been a while. Meant to blog about my SD escapades everyday. I guess I got too busy?
Anyway, a lot went on in the past week.
Last Monday, Nette took me out to explore the wonders of downtown SD. Sorta. I was really disappointed in the weather. The entire time I was there, it was ugly. ): But a lot made up for it. So yeah, Nette treated me to all these places. My first Korean BBQ joint, Burger Lounge, & Heavenly Cupcakes. Yelped about all those places. I'm thinking about the Burger Lounge's veggie burger right now. Ugh, they need to open one up here. haha.
On Tuesday, LJ & I decided to "camp out" at AT&T for the iPhone on the actual launch day. We meant to go around 12, but LJ came home around that time & she said no one was in line so we decided to go later. We set our alarms for 3:30, bought food & ate it in my car outside the store. There were about 8 people there already so we weren't worried. The place opened at 7, so we had time to kill. We chilled in my car for 30mins & I opened my sun roof. Every few minutes or so, I heard someone yelling randomly & I thought I was just hearing stuff. We got out of the car & it turns out, it was some homeless woman saying stuff to, well, nobody. The only thing that separated us was a Glacier water vending machine. Not gonna lie, I was a little terrified. She would shout random stuff like, "Don't drop the soap!", she started talking about whores, & something about "Snatching property." It was funny yet sad at the same time. At one point, an Albertson's employee walked in & greeted her with a "Hi, Cora." To which she normally replied back. The people in line joked around saying that she was a regular here. LJ & I picked up that she had a Filipino accent so we called her Auntie Cora. LOLOL. The store finally opened 10mins early. We got in & was serviced by this employee who was really nice. LJ told him how a few days before, we asked if we could go on the same plan & keep my number and they just said no. Turns out, you can. He told us to come at a later time when it wasn't that busy. We got our iPhones, I got the cheapest plan to last me until later in the day. We came back around 4ish with Big Sis & Ryan and we managed to go on the same plan & keep my number with the manager's help. He also told us he found a loophole in the system which allowed him to give us the unlimited data plan. We hella accepted. haha.
Wednesday, I hit up Del Mar Fair with LJ, Ryan, Warren, & Walter. It was supposed to be just Warren & I, but LJ tagged along, Ryan didn't wanna drive himself to meet his friends, & we ran into Walter when he worked so we told him to chill with us. My first fair here in California & it was kind of amazing. haha. I haven't even been to the State Fair up here yet. Hella sad. But yeah, we hella ate here. Onion blooms, deep fried Snickers/Reese's, strawberry funnel cake, Turkey leg (which tasted like cigarettes), & a deep fried Klondike bar (the batter wasn't even cooked all the way, so it was hella nasty). I met Mary for the first time, she's soo cute. Ryan said she was afraid of me, so I gave her a hug to ease the intimidation I had (I guess? haha.) I call her "Ading" now. We got home around 11:30 that night & Ryan found out "The Last Airbender" midnight premiere was that night. We thought it was the night after. We bought tickets on Fandango & left immediately. From a fan's standpoint, the movie sucked. At first, I was a little thrown off the way everyone's names were pronounced wrong, but I hella called that they only did that to alleviate the fact that white actors were playing Asian characters & so the only way to compensate that was to pronounce names how Asians would pronounce them. Ryan & I critiqued it in a blog. The effects still amazed me though.
On Thursday, Nette & I decided to have a beach day. We hit up PB so I could go to Buffalo Exchange to sell my shoes I bought 2 years ago. I didn't get shit. LOL. I was mad cuz I only wore them ONCE & the chick said they were too worn down. Really? Ugh, whatever. I left them there anyway. LOL. We hit up the beach & hella fell asleep under the peeping sun. We got pretty dark. Got home around 5ish & hit up Chula Vista with LJ & her twin to have dinner with Big Sis @ Zorbas Greek Buffet. That place was pretty amazing. $9 for a buffet? I see you, Zorba. haha.
I did absolutely nothing on Friday. LOL. I didn't even leave the house. -_- But LJ & I watched "Eclipse". I didn't like it. hahahahaha.
Saturday & Sunday was the Nafarrete reunion with the cousins. All was well. I ate so much I thought I was gonna explode. Well, I did have some explosion in the bathroom. Like fireworks. On Sunday, my mom told me not to drink because we had to leave around 4 to drive back home cuz she had work in the afternoon. I drank anyway. Not a lot though. Not even enough to get me buzzed, so I was fine. I ended up sleeping at 12, got 3 1/2 hours of sleep. Picked up my mom & Gabe at Auntie Elsa's & left around 4:30. Gabe & I talked all the way up to LA about random stuff and that helped me stay awake. I dropped him off & left to drive back home. Arrived back here around 12ish. I'm surprised I didn't stop at a rest area to sleep. Rohto Ice works wonders. (:
